 Covid-19 Protocols

  • The health and well-being of our members and staff remain our TOP PRIORITY as we reopen.

  • Students will maintain a minimum of 6ft distance from each other at all times.

  • Markers on the floor throughout the dojang will guide students in lineups to ensure a safe distance is observed.

  • No contact sparring, techniques only.

  • We will not practice self-defense with partners.

  • We will not be doing any partner drills

  • We will focus our curriculum on kicks and techniques in the air, fitness, and perfecting forms.

  • No handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, etc. We will simply use a respectful bow to greet people in a courteous and safe way.

  • Students will remove belts when receiving stripes to maintain proper distance at all times.

  • Face coverings are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED at the dojang.

  • The CDC has recommended wearing masks in public spaces.

  • Staff will be wearing masks at all times.

  • Drop off only!

  • To reduce the number of people in the school at any time, we ask that you drop students off and either wait in your car or come back to pick up students after class.

  • Parents of TOTS, New Students, and special circumstances are permitted to observe class from the back room. 6ft distance between parents must be observed.

  • Students will use hand sanitizer as they enter the dojang and are encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly as they leave.

  • (Because of the low supply of hand sanitizer, please consider sending students in with their own sanitizer or donating bottles to the school!

  • One Way Traffic Through the Dojang… Entry and Exit Rules

  • Students will enter the main doors, go through the backroom to the training floor. Students will remove their shoes before stepping on the mats, but carry their shoes around to the shoe cubbies in the front of the dojang. At the end of class, Master Ray will dismiss students a few at a time to prevent bottlenecking while putting shoes on. Students will exit the mats at the front, put their shoes on, and exit the other double doors at the front of the school.

  • We hope this will be an effective way to help maintain distance between students between classes.

  • Extra Sanitation

  • There will be time between classes to clean kicking bags, door handles, bathrooms, etc between each class.

  • All instructors will wash their hands thoroughly between each class.

  • Ventilating the Dojang

  • Opening school doors to allow better ventilation. (Weather dependent, of course!)

  • Restrooms & Dressing Rooms

  • Dressing Rooms will be closed. Please arrive dressed and ready for class.

  • Please encourage students to use the restroom at home prior to coming to the dojang. Restrooms will be open but please only use if absolutely necessary and wash hands thoroughly after use.

  • REMINDERS:

  • We have a deep cleaning protocol at the dojang. Every day, the entire dojang is sanitized with a special cleaner designed for mats & equipment. It is a disinfectant, fungicide, virucide, mildew stat, and kills MRSA & Staphylococcus. Our mats, paddles, bags, etc are cleaned daily.

  • Any student who is even a tiny bit ill, or has any family member who is ill, is REQUIRED to stay home. If you are well enough to want to practice Taekwondo, you may join us via Zoom from home.

  • We understand it is a difficult time and we hope we can work together at the Academy to practice excellent sanitation and prevent the spread of germs and infections.

Thank you!
Master Ray
